In a diveation from my usual celebration of loud, bold, and bright color I explored my love of history by fusing old Hollywood glamlour phtography of the 1930’s with the hardcore, yet theatrical, aesthetic of 1980’s goths and club kids. I focused primarily on starlets and personal glamour and style icons such as Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Siouxsie Sioux, and John Galliano. I styled my fabulous model Dahlia Salazer who, after listening to my historical notes, took that information to paint her face in a beautiful combination of aesthetics and adopt the airy, gentle beauty of the 1920’s, the feminine power of Marlene Dietrich, and the style of dance popular within goth nightclubs.
